Video Collections

Special Orders for Higher Education Colleges & Universities

 

Video History Today has designed & priced the video collections shown above for schools.  Universities and Colleges are required to purchased a larger specially packaged product as outlined below.   Orders can be made using Paypal (No Paypal account required for card purchase) or by post for full payment (UK Pound Sterling cheque drawn on British Bank only).  Postage & packaging is fixed at £6.00 per order.

 

The University Package  £345.00 (except the Full Great War Collection: £495.00)

 

Each purchase includes 10 USB copies of the relevant Video Collection (or 2 x 10 USB copies in the case of the Full Great War Collection).

 

The College Package    Each Collection £225.00 (except the Full Great War Collection £350.00)

 

Each purchase includes 6 USB copies of the relevant Video Collection (or 2 x 6 USB copies in the case of the Full Great War Collection).

The purchase of either the University or College collection allows the product to be used across different departments within the College or University.

What is in each Video Collection?

 

Each video collection contains nearly 4.0 GB of video clips, with many original photographs, maps and additional information.   

 

• Nearly 4 hours of video;
• Approx. 780 individual video clips;
• 960 unique, original photographs;
• 150 Google Earth Placemarks (by clicking on the Google Earth marker, the Google Earth application opens and you zoom into the exact location as viewed from above).

 

The folders within each Collection contain a number of individual files of video focusing on a particular aspect of a location.

 

As an example, the video files from Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration camp in Oswiecim, Poland have been split into 23 folders. The titles include well known areas such as the ‘SS Watchtower views’, ‘Crematoria II’ and ‘Crematoria III’ but also the less well known but still vital parts of the story of the Holocaust, (‘Wooden hut area’, ‘The Road’, ‘The Trees’ and ‘The White House’).

 

The aim of the video clips in each file is not to tell a story (that is the job of the user) but capture the important elements of a location, providing the tools for the user to create a story.

 

IMPT NOTES:

 

1.  The video files are all .WMV format for use on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers.  The files have not been designed for use on Apple MAC computers.

 

2.  When you purchase a Video History Today video collection you a purchasing a licence to use the video material in one school only.   It is not to be distributed or copied in any way to other schools or places of education (see below for College & University orders).
